Kisan board advised the government to develop a farmer-friendly budget
In Lahore a convention was conducted by Kisan Board, in this convention Chauhdry Shaukat Chaddar, President Kisan Board advised the government for the development of a Farmer-friendly budget. It was demanded that government should bring all the farmer organizations and agriculture experts in the loop of discussion before framing the upcoming budget.
The prime stress was given on the demand that government should convert the sugar ordinance in law and ensure its’ practice. The President of Kisan Board also insisted that government should provide interest-free loans to the farmers and provide free electricity for agricultural purposes.
The board appealed to the government to pay heed to build new damns across the state to deal with the scarcity of water for agricultural purposes. During his address Kisan board chairman criticized the governments’ agricultural policy, he stated,’ Governments’ agricultural policy has failed. The rise in the price of electricity, pesticides, fertilizers, and ignition oils is diminishing the agricultural sector.
The Kisan board devised the charter of demands to be presented in front of the government.
