Low priced with a faster processor but with few downgrades.
Realme launched two phones, C15 and C12 in the past but their specifications and features were so similar that they felt essentially the same. That realization must have led to the release of C25 which is significantly different from its predecessor, the C15. C25 has gotten a processor upgrade to MediaTek Helio G70 (instead of the earlier Helio G35) but the camera has been degraded from four to three cameras.
The problem is, C25 has a competitor from its own company, the Realme Narzo 30A. The latter phone is cheaper but has two cameras instead of three. So C25 relies on its extra 2MP macro lens to differentiate itself. Is a starting price of $137 good enough to compete with even cheaper Nazro 30A?

Similar to C15, Realme C25 has a plastic body and dimensions very close to its predecessor. The finishing is textured and a clear, embossed Realme Logo at the back. The lens layout at the back is similar too but with three instead of four cameras, the flashlight becomes a part of the module. The back all contains a round fingerprint reader for unlocking the phone.
The SIM triple-card is on the left side of the phone and the power/unlock buttons sit on the right. But due to the large screen, the power button becomes a bit of a hassle to reach and the hand has to be adjusted accordingly. The phone is quite heavy at 209 grams, mostly because of the large 6,000 mAh battery inside. The plastic body does not get any scratches easily and the matte finish does not allow fingerprint smudges.
Realme C25 specifications and software
The processor included in the mobile is a much faster one than the previous models. It is a 12nm MediaTek Helio G70 SoC with integrated Mali-G52 graphics which is a significant upgrade over the previous generation phones. The SoC is combined with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM. The storage option provided by Realme in this phone is both 64GB and 128GB, something not offered by most phones of this budget. A MicroSD card slot allows users to upgrade their memory if need be.
The user interface (UI) is based on the latest available Android 11. The company also allows users many customization options for icon styles, notification drawer icons, etc as well as theme alteration options as well. The bloatware apps are minimal and not too much of a hassle. For example, the pre-installed Realme apps include HeyFun (for quick gaming access), Community (forums), Finshell Pay (which refused to launch), and Realme Link (to connect with Realme's IoT products).
Realme C25 performance and battery life
The LCD panel i.e. the display screen is a large 6.5+ inches having a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a brightness adequate for both indoors and outdoors. The text was readable, pictures were noticeable, and the camera viewfinder was simple to view even on sunshiny middays. Impeding discernibility outside is the display glass, which was discovered to be comparatively straightforward to smudge, and it picks up fingerprints within moments of employment.
The HD+ resolution operates in support of battery time. Also, most video streaming apps including Netflix will only maintain SD streaming on the Realme C25 because it is only Widevine L3 accredited. Streamed content did not look bright or clear when spread over that 6.5-inch display.
Many experts were not expecting that a MediaTek Helio G70 SoC matched with 4GB RAM would be able to give a superior performance but surprisingly, C25 was able to complete all the benchmark tests very smoothly. The gaming experience of most professional phone reviewers was also adequate though not without hiccups. For example, one expert noted that while playing Call of Duty: Mobile, there were some occurrences when the game textures and scenes took an extra second to load. Asphalt 9 similarly had more obstructions but ran smoothly when the graphic setting was set at low. Since the quality settings are set so small, it is not surprising that the phone did not get warm during gameplay.
Realme C25 Cameras
Juxtaposed to the Realme C15, the current C25 drops the 8MP ultra-wide rear camera and special low-resolution filter cameras. Instead, users receive three cameras; a 13MP f/2.2 primary wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera, and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 depth sensor. The selfie camera proffered by the C25 remains at 8MP. The camera interface is also very comfortable to use since most of the settings, toggles, and filters are available readily.
Talking about the image quality of the front, the daytime pictures were quite energetic and eccentric and even showed details in the darker areas of the picture. The HDR helps the phones navigate a dynamic range so the picture output is not overexposed. However, primary camera pictures did have an off-putting feeling about them as the photos did not seem to represent the actual scene properly and clearly. However, for a phone as low priced like this, the experts have still been impressed with the picture quality and especially the 2X zoom that the phone features.
Priced at $137 upon its release this month, the phone offers the basics of what can be expected from this budget. The best thing about the C25 is its processor that is much better than previous models and also gives users a fast operating speed. If you are tired of your phone lagging while switching apps or playing games but also do not want to go for a more expensive phone, then this phone is the right choice for you. This mobile can also be utilized as a second phone that can be used in emergencies or for basic office functionality. The users who would like to have a more stock version of Android, it is best to opt for a different model. But the features of this phone definitely warrant a thorough look.
