A manager at Amazon filed a lawsuit against an online retailer in Washington DC, federal court with accusation of racism.
A manager at Amazon sued online retailer claiming that the retailer is indulged in the racism as he gives lower jobs to the black people and promotes them very slowly as compared with the normal growth of the other workers.
“Company is suffering from the Systemic pattern of insurmountable discrimination,” said Charlotte Newman, a business development head at Amazon Web Services. Filing law suit she mentioned that Amazon delayed her rise by 2-1/2 years to a senior manager by hiring her in 2017 for a more junior role for which she was overqualified. She further stated that the accused also used to call her racial remarks, telling she is “aggressive,” “too direct” and “just scary.” She accused another male co-worker of sexually harassing her and once pulling on her braids while saying, “You can leave this behind.”
Amazon management on the other hand are clear that the behavior Charlotte has gone through does not reflects the values of the Company and the Management will conduct the fair investigating of the matter as the Amazon is having no tolerance for the racial discrimination, it has always tried to promote working culture based on the principle of mutual respect and equality
